Description: 

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) received an urgent request on 27 April 2009 from the European Commission for a scientific opinion in relation to the risks or human health due to the presence of nicotine in wild mushrooms at concentrations up to 0.5 mg/kg. Considering the urgency of this request for advice, EFSA decided to issue a statement rather than an opinion.
